The gas producing dry cell

The gas producing dry cell is the size of an ordinary hearing-aid battery. It uses electro-chemical principles to generate hydrogen or oxygen gas. Despite its modest size, it generates a remarkable volume of gas, which is delivered on demand, without the need of an external energy source. The cell is suitable for economically delivering liquids and viscous substances.

Gas producing dry cell functionality

An electric short-cut of the two external poles starts the gas production in the cell. The gas volume in relation to time is defined through an external resistor (Ra). The higher the resistor setting, the slower the gas production, which is in direct relation to the electric power flowing through the cell. If the circuit is interrupted, the gas production stops instantly.
